Review: MacBook Pro Retina Display
Has anyone ever said to you “Pc’s are way better than Mac”? No? Yeah, that’s what I thought. Although what you are about to read is not a biased review. I am reviewing the brand new Macbook Pro with Retina Display.

Tech and Specs:
So first I will tell you the techs and specs of the computer. This computer has an 8GB RAM with 2.3Ghz and fitted with Intel Core i7 processor. This computer is also fitted with 250GB of Hard Drive space. I know that’s not a lot, but it is using a SSD. An SSD is a Solid State Drive meaning that there is nothing that is moving in the computer. This is better than the predecessor the MacBook Pro without the retina Display.

Dimensions:
The all new MacBook Pro is dramatically thinner than its predecessor MacBook Pro, although it is not as thin as the MacBook Pro. The height of this MacBook Pro is 1.8 centimeters. Now you’re probably thinking, What?! It’s a 15 inch computer and its 1.8 centimeters? Yes that is right. And it’s only 2 kilograms. That’s 0.5 times lighter than its older version.

This is a comparison with the old MacBook Pro and the new MacBook Air (Note the height difference)

Battery Life:
The battery life on this computer is great. On the website it says that you can use wireless web on the new MacBook Pro for 7 hours. Like, unless you want to destroy your eyes. The battery life actually last around 5 hours if you are doing other things like listening to music and watching movies.

Display:
This computer is equipped with Retina Display with 15.4 inch display. This computer is Jam Packed with pixels. This has 2 times the amount if pixels it has on a Full HD TV. Can you imagine that?

Extras:
This computer has 2 USB 3.0 ports on each side. If you have a hard drive that supports USB 3.0 this means that you can copy 5GB’s of data in 5 seconds. That’s is way faster than the old 2.0. It also has a HDMI input slot for connecting your computer to a HD TV. It has an SD slot for transferring pictures from your camera. Although this is one of the state of the art computer, it lacks a CD drive. This is one of the reasons why it is so thin. But we do live in an era where CD’s are not so important anymore and we get everything electronically.

Cons:
Third party apps like Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and Microsoft Office does not support retina display. This is because the third party apps have not updated their apps to have retina compatible apps. But there are updates for this. This was one of the problems for everyone when the computer just came out. Most consumers who bought this were high tech people and they used Adobe apps a lot, they had to come up with a way quickly and by 2 weeks. they have released updates for the apps.

Overall:
Overall this computer is a great choice for your next computer. Don’t think of the price, but this will last you years, maybe even a decade if you aren’t too tech savvy.

I hope you enjoyed reading this post about the new MacBook Pro with Retina.

Week 7: My 5 year Plan

Where will I be in 5 years time? I’ll be in my third year at a University studying engineering in Australia, not sure which part of engineering though. My plan for next year is to move to Australia in time for semester 2 in Australia. In 5 years time I will probably be living with my sister in a house that my parents bought for my sister and I. I will probably be working in a mall or a cafĂ© somewhere as a cashier or a barista or something like that. Next year ill be in a school in Perth, Australia that has a golf academy. Golf is my hobby and I sure see me as golfer when I grow up. On my holiday breaks ill definitely be coming back to Bali and travel overseas with my parents for a fun holiday. Whenever I have summer breaks from University I will definitely come back to Bali and spend time in our new villa/home that is currently in the process of building and will be done by January of 2013. I will definitely see myself as a successful student at a university in 5 years time.
I plan to work for the biggest company in the world whether it is in the mining industry or the construction industry. I will have to work hard in the next five years to make my dreams come true.
